How to use higher resolution than native.

Alright so, I have a 27 inch 1080p monitor and I wanted to know if there was a way to run it with a resolution of 1440p so that the user interface looks smaller.

What I'm trying to do is to be able to fit more in the screen, like shrinking the interface. Windows 10 has an option to increase the UI, but not shrink it.

Try adjusting the resolution to the highest one available there is in your PC and see if that will solve your problem. If it doesn't have any option to adjust it to the highest resolution install the latest driver for your graphics card as well.

Best way to make it look smaller is to sit further away. Native resolution is normally max that a monitor can go too.

Can make icons/text appear smaller by altering the DPI settings or simply try making icons smaller > Right click desktop > View.

In fact I can increase the resolution up to 1440p which shrinks everything, just like I want it to. However, the text doesn't look very sharp and it's very painful for my eyes. What could be done?
