You will have to purchase an SATA (assuming your HDD is SATA and not IDE) to USB - case. It's probably cheaper to dump your old HDD and get a dedicated external HDD instead.

It will be cheaper to utilize your old hard drive as an external drive than to purchase a new external hard drive. Assuming your laptop hdd size is decent, just buy an external case (try link below for suggestions) and pop your current drive in it. Make sure you now the difference between IDE drives and SATA drives.
