Multiple desktops are a convenient way to keep your work organized when trying to multitask. If you don’t have multiple monitors, this is the next best thing. Windows 10 offers a very evolved version of multiple desktops that is actually very easy to work with. If you would to use multiple desktops on Windows 10 PC, here’s how.

The ability to use multiple desktops in Windows has been around for a while but it hasn’t been this easy to use. It only took a decade, but finally Microsoft have gotten around to making multitasking with a single monitor a viable activity.

To get it working:

1. Click the Task View button on the Windows Taskbar.
2. Click the ‘New Desktop’ button in the bottom right.
3. Click the new desktop in the center of the pane.

Once you have your multiple desktops there are a few shortcuts you can use to make working with them fast and smooth.

• Use the Windows key + Ctrl + left or right arrow to switch between them. Or use the Task View button.
• Use the Windows key + Ctrl + F4 to close the current desktop.
• Use Alt + Tab to switch between programs regardless of which desktop they are in.

Finally, you can move programs between desktops should you need to. Simply open Task View, hover over the program you want to move, right click and select move to and select the desktop you want to move it to.
