How to use same Windows 8 in another HDD

So, I'm building a new desktop. I have a laptop with windows 8. I thought I could save A LOT by using my factory settings, that are in the laptop's HDD, in the desktop's HDD. So, I would like to transfer the OS from the laptop to the desktop. Can I do this? If yes, how?

the laptop hdd os is a oem one and bound to it you could not activate it on another system .
