How to Use Snap Assist in Windows 10

The Snap Assist feature in Windows 10 allows you to easily align the interfaces of open applications or files. When you try to move an opened window on the desktop, Snap Assist automatically resizes the window according to the position of your mouse, and snaps it to the closest screen edge to give you a perfectly aligned window.

In order to use Snap Assist, all you need to do is use Windows’ drag-drop feature. Here is how:
■Log on to your Windows 10 PC using any account. Since using Snap Assist is a user-specific task, no administrator rights are required.
■On the desktop window, open any file or application.
■Left-click and hold (do not release the left mouse button after clicking) the title bar of the opened window.
■While the left mouse button is pressed, drag the mouse to any of the four edges of the screen. (This will also move the opened file.)
■As soon as the mouse pointer reaches the edge and a thin transparent outline of opened window indicating its new size and position appears, release the left mouse button and allow Snap Assist to align the window automatically.

■You can repeat the same process to align multiple windows.
