how to use two hard drives...

I have two hard drives in my desktop. One of the has win 7 ult and the other one has vista ult. when i boot the display gives me the option of choosing one or the other perfectly. Now my problem I would like to put winxp pro sp 3 on one or the other of them and also put kali linux on one of them...to recap on the primary hard drive i have win 7 utl want to put kali linux on it too...on second hard drive i have vista ult want to put winxp on that one I dont know how to install partition and get the boot menu to be correct can someone pls help. Safest thing to do would be to back up any data you want to save and then start from scratch. Create two partitions on each drive and install an OS onto each of them.

I like to keep my os's on there own drive if something like a drives fails I only loose 1 os worth , but that's just me
