How to use two slot of ram?

My Pc has 4GB+2GB RAM, but in my pc total Installed Ram showing 3.38GB only(Out of 6GB Ram utilising 3.38GB only).

If Placed Only 4GB Ram in one slot the total ram is sowing same 3.38GB (Out of 4GB Ram utilising 3.38GB only).

My 2 GB ram working fine but not utilising memory when it placed along with 4 GB ram.

So my question is, How to Utilize both RAMs memory?

Are you running 32 bit or 64 bit windows? (it will say in system properties)

You are using a 32 bit system most probably and it limits the ram usage to around 2.5 to 3.5 gb , depending on memory allocated to GPU. You need t upgrade to a 64 bit windows , if your hardware supports it , in order to utilize your full RAM capacity.

Check in your computer properties if your porcessor is x64 enabled or not. Its next to where your OS is specified as 64 bit. IF it is 64 bit then you have to fresh install a 64 bit version of windows 7/8/10 . You cant choose upgrade and keep all files from 32 bit installed OS to 64 bit one .
