How to use VGA monitor?

So I'm using a 1080p monitor on my 1070ti but I had a really old VGA monitor I wanted to use as a second one, I have multi gpu monitor enabled in bios but the VGA monitor won't work while it's pulled into the motherboard. Any idea on how to get it working?

It's quite possible that your motherboard does not support integrated video while discrete GPU is used.
- turn off your PC completely
- remove your 1080p
- plug the VGA motnitor, turn on the PC, go into BIOS - you'll know whether your monitor works.
