How to Use Your Touch ID with App Store Purchases on MacBook Pro

Touch ID allows you to easily purchase apps and games from the Apple App Store, but before you can start shopping, you need to set up your macOS to identify your fingerprint.
Once set up, you’ll be able to place your fingerprint on the Touch ID panel to authorize a purchase. Follow these simple steps to use Touch ID to purchase from the App Store.

1. Open 'System Preferences'
Open ‘System Preferences’ and select 'Touch ID'. The Touch ID dialog box will open.

2. Allow App Store Purchases
Check the box next to the iTunes & App store option at the bottom of the dialog box. Once you have entered your Mac account password in the pop-up (not your Apple ID password), all the stored fingerprints on your Mac will be authorized for App Store purchases.

3. Open ‘App Store’
Click on the ‘App Store’ icon in the shortcut dock on your MacBook Pro. The App store will open with a list of all the recommended apps for your account. You can also search for a specific app or browse through the Top Charts.

4. Choose to Install/Buy an App
Open the app of your choice and Click on the install/buy button, depending on whether the app is free/paid. A pop-up asking you to enter your account password will appear.

5. Enter your 'Apple ID' & 'Password'.
Enter the ‘Password’ for your ‘Apple ID’ and Click the ‘Sign In’ button. Another pop-up will appear.

6. Allow Touch ID for App Store
A pop-up will appear asking if you would like to use Touch ID for future purchases. Click on ‘Yes’. You will now be able to use your fingerprint to install and purchase items from the App Store.

Your Touch ID for App Store is now set up.
