How to wakeup a sleeping printer

I have an hp pavilion desktop computer running Vista. It sleeps and wakes-up on command. My problem is that I lose my hp printer...no wake up for it. I have to physically remove the usb cable and re-insert it, then the printer wakes up. This works but is somewhat annoying. Any ideas out there?

pressing the ok button on the printer on ours wakes it up. any jobs you sent to the printer while it was on standby should then be processed.

On my HP printer I just press the power button once quickly and it wakes it up. If you press and hold it for longer it will shut it off so I just do a quick press and it works every time.
