I was not sure where to put this topic, but i am selling my computer to downgrade to something smaller (laptop) and cheaper but still able to do the job. I was wondering how or what i could do to wipe my computer so nothing from what i have installed, downloaded, whatever is on the computer anymore. I would like to keep all the drivers on the computer just simply out of generosity but i have all the CDs so i suppose i could re-install all of them before i sold the computer, or they can do it themselves.

Thanks

If you have the original disc for the OS that came with the computer, use that, (recovery disc), or if the laptop came with a partition for it, there should be a utility that should walk you through the re-format.

Best bet would be to re-install & update the drivers after, if you really want to get rid of everything on it.
In most cases a program like DBAN should work well for removing data (http://www.dban.org/). Keep in mind it will remove everything, including the Windows install and drivers/programs, but since you have the disks you can always reinstall that stuff after you wipe the hard drive.
