So I am moving into a condo fairly soon and am looking to set up a home ethernet connection. Problem is, i can't run any wires into the walls and roofs (I can probably get it so i can run the cable THROUGH the walls, meaning getting the cable from one side of the wall to the other, but i can't go into the wall and run the entire cable through there, If you know what i mean, i can also have the cables run ALONG the walls, just not inside of them) because I'm pretty sure that is against the terms and conditions. My condo has 2 bedrooms, one of which will be used as a home office, which will have my PC as well as a printer and I'm currently saving my pennies for a NAS device in the future, My bedroom will have my laptop which i want connected to ethernet. Mu condo also has a living room, which will have a PS4, an apple tv, and a samsung smart tv, all of which i want connected to ethernet. I do NOT want to invest in power line networking specifically because i don't know enough about it yet to really be sold on it, and i am looking at using CAT 5e which the condo DOES NOT have built in. I am looking at a modem and a router as well as a small 8 port switch and am looking for a way to organize my network without having to go through walls and roofs. I also will only use WIFI for mobile devices, because wifi just does not have the speed that i am looking for in my normal home network commute. I may have to do exposed ethernet wiring so if any of you know how to organize an exposed cable network that would be great. Im more a computer hardware person and am still studying networking and am a bit of a noob at the moment so please excuse me.
