I am getting His R9 280x 3gb gfx card around 4500 INR or 65 usd. My rig is 9 year old, but its still solid for my daily use, just few days ago I've also installed Kingston A400 240gb ssd and my pc is 10 times faster now.
So mentioned card is vfm for now? Will I able to play latest games on my rig? My monitor's resolution is 1440 x 900 so that will be max resolution Ill be playing on.

My Rig-
Amd phenom II x4 965 / Gigabyte GA 785 gmt ud2h / 14gb ddr3 ram / Kingston A400 240 gb ssd + 1 tb seagate hdd / Antec 650 psu / Hd 4850 512 mb gfx.

Solution
280x is still ok, it should be about around 960.
IT should be still ok.
The thing is, getting more powerful GPU is not really a good idea because your X4 965 will bottleneck it badly.

Game resolution will have impact mainly on the GPU side, it will not impact the processor that much. If you have FPS issue due to GPU, you can try reducing the resolution but if you have FPS problems due to processor, there is no other way than to get stronger processor.

latest games like pubg, upcoming RDR2 etc. I don't want to play on higher settings as I've mentioned my monitors max resolution is 1440 x 900.
