How well will this MacBook Pro run Diablo 3?

I just wanted to know how well this MacBook Pro 15" will run Diablo 3, Starcraft II, or general games that are available for Mac.

It's the baseline MacBook Pro 15".

500GB 5400-rpm hard drive1

It depends on how cluttered your system is as well. The guy in this article was having a lot of trouble with his Macbook Pro and Diablo 3. That article was actually the reason I upgraded, went with the company he mentioned too www.ironsidecomputers.com . I think your macbook should handle it fine though just keep checking the fps.

I just got the exact MBP you are asking about, it plays diablo 3 beautifully, with all settings on high even the shadows on high (smooth) which I was impressed with. You will want it plugged in tho lol, I ran it for an hour on battery, went from 100% to 39% . Temps were a bit high, but acceptable, the GPU Diode never got above 160F. Thats perfectly in limits but I don't like it that hot, I installed smcFanControls, and I bump the fans up 1000rpms to help keep it down (I only do this for the game). In diablo 3 I also turn on vertical sync to reduce page tearing, and I also set the maximum frames per second down to 50. No need to have it over 150 - this will also help keep the temps down as well, and TBH your eyes can't tell much diff between 100fps vs 50fps. It actually plays better on this MBP than on my mid 2011 iMac 27". I always liked Nvidia better than radeon - Hope this helps
