Hellboys was funny. I just missed Thunderman but I saw one of his comeback threads after the anti-trust thing and thought he seemed ok 😀, but I can sorta tell that he must have been a fun figure around here. 😀

This one -

OK, you do know that nVidia is looking 6 months late with a card that looks very expensive for the sake of gpgpu abilities?
Also, you do know that 6 months is like 12 months in cpus right?
You also know that without HW, twimtbp cant do alot for games if the G300 isnt here nad wont be right?
And since its a new DX11 release, the very begginings is very important for devs to have the HW.
Yes, nVidia is larger than ATI, but its margins are slipping in the worst area, with no signs odf picking up, its latest card for mobile, done on the newest 40nm process uses more power, performs worse, and is most likely the largest seller in all power/ability brackets?
Also, sine bumpgate, or when their mobile cards were crappy out, and they lost 320 million in covering for them, the OEMs are going soft on them as well, besides their crappy new DX10.1 cards.
They currently have nothing competitive for DT, as its all on the 55nm process, runs the old old DX10 model, and the ONLY cards that come close to perf compared to ATIs newest cards are 3 times larger. So, they lose money just to be competitive, and thats the best case scenario.
ATI has raised their prices by 25-30%, and can do this with cards that dont cost any more than when the 4xxx series was released, and theyll sell, as again, even at these prices, nVidia simply doesnt have a solution other than to lose alot of money on old cards that no one wants.
Evpect the IPC to be slightly raised thru better chipset and higher bus on their new cpus, the mobile is coming, and by spring, theyll have a very nice and competitive platform, after the last piece is put in place.

Just proves your in fantasy land..

And back to the continuing story. Mean while lets talk up AMD.....

Ready

Im thinking
Im thinking

Fire Power

JDJ, let me explain more.

But Im on the track that people buy a video card on the fact that nvidia is more in the public eye, its on almost every game released wether it needs a highest range video card or not. Im not talking about the enthusiasts eye, I'm talking about to the fact that the casual pc gamer ( where there are more than the dedicated ) want a middish range ( if there is a word ) video card.
I always get asked for nvidia over ati. Not my fault AMD dont market their product as well as Nvidia even if ATI has a superior product at that time even if it is for cheaper money ( remember prescott ).

Plus the drivers are better with nvidia and now we get phsyx logo plastered all over games too. What next Nvidia Cuda logo'd Autocad.

Oh ... yeah ... they even look like em !!

AMD Haters ...

You forgot to add Yomamma and jimmy ...

Once upon a time they were all minions for Lord turpit too ...

Thank god his 1500 word essays are gone from this place.

Back then you couldn't say anything positive about AMD or tackle these idiots without him threatening (via PM) to delete your account.

MaronMatrix and I just ignored the wanker.

More power to you Jenny.

Will you marr me instead and ditch TC?

He only has one degree and I have three !!

LOLZ ....

While I agree, its more a household name, the problem here is, theyre losing the OEM market big time.
So, in reality, it doesnt matter, and ATI is building decent name recognition, and serious name recognition.
It seems alot of the responses in the forums is as if ATI is the new kid on the block, and its word of mouth and whats at the local stores.
So, in that sense, nVidia is losing its premium name, while ATI is the newcomer so to speak. While we know differently, the new gamers are just finding out, as of course theyve already heard about nVidia, and of course, theres the down talk from previous nVidia owners to the new gamers, and they come here asking. Ive never seen it like this before, not as often, nowhere near this kind of response.
Especially the card makers themselves, as most people dealing with nVidia already have their favorites, but dont know anything about ATI and their partners. The numbers are there. And its only going to get better or worse, depending on which company of course.
The market in gpus isnt saturated with nVidia like Intel has always had it, and theres enough there on ATIs side to actually pull a shift in the balance

No,

I guess you havent seen Night of the Museum 2 then, oh never mind..

I hope ATI can do it, I really do, but if I was AMD right now I would work on marketting this new video card.

The need to go and visit Gabe, speak to EA, Ubi-soft etc etc, get there somehow and give each and every software house a video card.

Ah, looks like nvidia's on a down and slippery slope. Maybe Intel will buy up whats left... There was talk about nvidia being bought ages ago by Intel. They will cherry pick the best bits and loose the rest.

3DFX all over again.

Thanks Hagrid for your quotes on the matter.
