How would a I7-8550U paired with an Nvidia MX150 game?

So, if i were in the market for a new laptop and options were limited how would the following stand against light gaming (Minecraft, low spec steam games etc)...

HP Spectre x360 Convertible Laptop- 15.6 inch-bl152nr
-Core I7-8550U
-Nvidia MX150
-16gb DDR4 RAM
-512gb SSD Storage

I am really intrigued by the presence of the MX150 in this hybrid laptop. It clocks higher than its desktop GT1030 counterpart and, being that it's fairly new and I know next to nothing about it, I was wondering how it would work with the I7-8550U to deliver a video streaming/gaming experience.
In short, i am not in the market for a "gaming laptop" due to battery, heat, and fan volume concerns but i DO want a sleek work grade laptop that is CAPABLE of some low end gaming. The presence of the dedicated Nvidia GPU alongside the core i7 simply intrigued me is all. Any advice and or answers would be helpful and appreciated!

It's definitely capable of low-end gaming. A GT 1030 -- which as you say, is more or less an MX 150 -- capably handles budget gaming so long as you're willing to go to 720p for the very top-end of the AAA games and medium or even low-medium in slightly older AAA games. The CPU is capable of supporting a 1030-like GPU.
 


Thank you for the reply! I thought as much. The main thing, really, and, memes aside, i'd really like this machine to run Minecraft well. I already know that Minecraft is a more CPU heavy game than GPU heavy. I have no doubts that the new zippy MX150 will be able to support Minecraft's "intensive" (that was sarcasm) graphical requirements. I was more wondering about the I7-8550U. Correct me if im worng, but, it is NOT overclockable AND it is only base clocked at 1.8Ghz. The 1.8 number scares me. That doesn't seem to be adequate for a real-time-rendering game like Minecraft. Any thoughts?
 


From what I understand, the thermal solution in the x360 allows for some pretty consistent boost-clocking. I doubt your CPU will be restricted to 1.8 gHz while gaming; the fans will most likely kick in and allow the chip to really stretch its legs!
