GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970 4 GB
CPU: Intel Core i5-3330 3 GHz (x4)
Motherboard: ASUS P8B75-M LX PLUS

I would appreciate it if anyone could guide me through overclocking my GPU, if possible

I'm not sure, how can I check?

EDIT

I increased both by 5 and this is what I got
MSI
Valley FPS

Increasing it by 5 does nothing. You would have to increase it by at least something like 50 to see any kind of results and even so not huge ones, I dont really see a point in overclocking your gpu because at big new shiny games your cpu will limit it anyway. (or at least it should at least to some degree)
Of course if you still want to bother with it here is a link - How to Overclock a Video Card - Beginners Guide

What i meant by increasing 5-10 and then testing was just for stability purposes and specially since it is your first time. you are supposed to keep going until sometimes goes wrong during stressing. eitther stuttering, artifact or crashes.

after that you have to lower down to a safer / stable overclock.

50+Mhz are what you are looking for, but it depends on every situation. sometimes you are stuck in 55-58 FPS and Overclocking the card gets you right there in the 60FPS+ sweetspot.

edit: also, begin overclocking Core Clock first untill you reach that limit. then if you really feel like to, then OC the memory but you will not get any noticeable performance improvement untless you get 250+Mhz.
