How would I move Windows to an SSD?

At the moment I have a 500 gb hard drive on my PC containing everything but my Steam games (those of which are on a 2 TB ext hard drive).

I've been itching for SSD speeds recently, and I want to get maybe a 100 gb SSD just to put Windows, as well as maybe a few other programs like Skype and Chrome on it.

How exactly would I go about installing Windows on the new SSD? I can't really clone the original hard drive because I'd be going from 500 gb to 100 gb.

I also somehow lost my original Windows 7 disk so I don't know if actual re installing is an option.

In this situation, you must reinstall windows as cloning can only be to the same size drive or larger. if you lost your disk, then you need to purchase a new copy as you need the activation code/key.

If I were to get the product key back using a program, then finding the ISO and putting it on a USB, would that somewhat work?

If you can find your original product key and it remains on the same system/motherboard, then yes. The ISO must be the same version of windows you are currently using.
