depends what inputs the TV has, if it only has a standard cable line input it is more complex, but some modern TVs have HDMI or VGA inputs which means that you may just be able to run a cable straight from your laptop to the TV. we would need to know the full list of outputs your laptop has, and the inputs the TV has.

The same as a monitor. But like hunter said, if you can do it or which cable you should use will depend on the outputs of your laptop and the inputs of your TV.
