I want to get more fps / stability while gaming out of my pc, i was told that a 3060ti is a good 1080p gaming card but my main monitor is 1440p , i was going to upgrade to a 5800x3d but was informed that it would be a waste of money as my gpu would still be holding me back, i was then told the only thing to rerally do is start over with a 5800x3d/ 3080+ gpu better ram for timings etc but i dont have that kinda money, at bare minimum thats around $2500 not including a 240 hrtz monitor which is another $700+
With my pc ive tried to switch the games to 1080 in the game settings which makes the game look terrrible with no frame increase but i read earlier that doing it that way its technically still running 1440 p which is why theres no increase in fps/performance its just downscaled, with me being a stroke survivor i have trouble understanding the steps to go through to make the game run true 1080 p with 1080p performance without the games looking absolutely horrible and blurrry.
so heres my question If i set everything up to run true 1080p on my 1440 p monitor will i see higher more stable frames? can i do it without making the games look terrible? or do i need to either A.) downgrade to a 1080 p 240 hrtz monitor, or upgrade the pc to run higher frames in 1440 p?
i mean either way i cant aford it right now im just trying to understand how people run 1080p on 1440 p monitors where they get 1080 p performance without their games looking horrible to hold me over till i can afford to either A.) upgrade pc (preferably) or B.) the cheaper but still expensive option get a 1080p 240 hrtz monitor and would i see a improvement in fps/performance
