I know, something's wrong with PCPartPicker... that ram actually costs $55.

I think i'll be upgrading my GPU... so I want a nice PSU... but I guess I'll go down to a 430.

You can get the cx500 if you want but the best PSU in that bracket would be the xfx 550w. I would get that if you are going to upgrade the GPU.

No, I will veto this suggestion. Having more watts than you need does not hurt at all, but having too few or bare minimum wattage can cause serious system instability. I've also had two CX430s fry on me so they're definitely not the best choice of PSU.

For $850 if you're not overclocking no reason to get the 3570K:

I own a 7770, but it's not yet supported by osx.
Would a 430 be fine for that (I'm currently using it with a athlon x4 ii 620 + the 7770)


Also, what about the case. This site gave it #1, but it is a little pricey. What's a nice lower priced case?

I've never really worked with Hackintosh before. You might want to consult one of their forums.

I suggest that case because it's an excellent value and Corsair is one of the best case manufacturers on the market.

I have, and everything seems right on the hackintosh side, but that will just be a project of mine. I came here to check how things would work with Windows 8.
Windows will be my primary (unless I really like OSX).

Do you know how loud the stock fan is on the i5-3570k?
I really want a pretty much silent computer.
How's the sound with that case?

What's your suggestion on 8GB vs 16GB?
