So, JUST build my new computer, very happy, sadly i had to get a guy in to help me install the heatsink (damn spring screws, require EXTREME pressure...), anyway, he over applied too much thermal paste, blah blah i later removed it.

So here are my temps using Everest (tell me if core temp is more accurate, then ill just start using that)

CPU #1/Core #1 - 33 C
CPU #1/ Core #2 - 33
CPU #1/Core #3 - 30
CPU #1/Core #4 - 30

I do think their right, but i was a bit afraid because i touched the back of my CPU during installation...

Thanks

You won't know how your temps are until you put the cpu under load; I recommend you download prime95 or a similar program and run it will monitoring your temps. If any of your cores go over 73 C, you have a problem.

Touching the cpu will not do anything. Especially with newer intel chips, because they only have contacts and no pins to worry about. Ive rubbed cpu's quite hardly with a cloth and rubbing alcohol and still run good as new.

The temps arnt going to be affected by a damaged contact anyway.

Your temps are perfectly normal for a just installed heatsink at idol ! couple of days the temps will probably get a little lower as the thermal cures, And then you can throw that all out and overclock it to 4.0 Ghz and cook little mini egss on your heatsink !
