Here is the rig I will soon buy/build. I'm video editing/gaming/shadowplay capturing. I'm not overclocking any of the components. Please let me know if all of these are 100% compatible with each other and will be worth the money:

CPU: Intel Core i7 4930k - ~$530

CPU Cooler: Noctua NH-D14 SE2011 - ~$80

^^ I'd like to steer clear of watercooling... Won't be overclocking and don't want to screw it up^^

Thermal Paste: Arctic Silver 5 High-Density - ~$10

RAM: DDR3 Corsair Vengeance Pro 16Gb 2400MHz - ~$200

Motherboard: ASUS X79 Deluxe LGA 2011 - ~$350

Power Supply: Corsair RM Series: 1,000 Watts - ~$200

Case: CM Storm Stryker Full Tower w. Handle - ~$150

I'm using a Samsung 840 EVO 120 GB from another PC as the boot drive, and will store backups and other stuff on a home NAS.

Graphics: As of now, I'll be using a PNY GTX 660 2 GB card, which is fine for previewing 1080p video for editing, but not for my gaming needs. I'll be gaming at either 1440p or 4k and haven't chosen another GPU yet, primarily because I'm waiting for a GTX 780 ti with 6+ GB of VRAM to eliminate any future VRAM bottlenecks. I've also considered two EVGA GTX 770 Classified 4 GB cards in SLI. Perhaps, there will be an 8xx nVidia card that will suit my needs well. I'm going with nVidia because I like the features it offers - G-Sync, Shadowplay, GPU Boost 2.0 (though I think AMD has something like that as well...).

Regarding the GPU/PSU, whichever card(s) I choose, I wan't to make sure I have the wattage in my PSU to add one more. That could mean 2 GTX 780 Ti's or 3 GTX 770s, though the trio is unlikely... Let me know if the 1000 watt RM PSU is sufficient. I'll probably add a few more drives and such, but that doesn't use much wattage from a PSU, if I'm correct.

I'm not buying these off the bat, but if you could recommend a good, large 4k monitor, a good keyboard, or a good mouse, that would be awesome! I hear mechanical keyboards are the new thing...

And, I figured any ol', cheap optical drive would do, but if I'm wrong, please recommend one. I just want DVD/CD read+write capabilities. I'll be recycling a card reader from another machine.

This is my first build, and I know it's really high end, but I figured if you're gonna spend the money, might as well shoot for the best.

Thanks a lot guys! Any help is appreciated! Merry Christmas!

You can get an AIO cooler eg. the Corsair H100i which is maintenance free and has much better thermals, and the installation is really easy. For the GPU, I recommend a single GTX 780Ti if you're only using one monitor, and a 1920x1080p monitor unless you really need the resolution. For the keyboard, I recommend a Corsair K95 and the M95 to compliment it.
