HP 110-405a additional Ram

I have 4GB DDR3 SODIMM RAM 1600 installed with a slot for another 4 GB. I would like to know if I install an additional 4 gb RAM will my system run any faster Its pretty slow,even my 7yr old XP PC is faster. Currently installed is a samsung PC3-12800 (800MHz) Part No. M471B5173DBO-YKO. Also it runs windows 8.1

If you have windows 8,1 64-bit, you can upgrade it to 8GB of Ram. Your main problem is that you can only make a Celeron CPU go so fast, and that is not very fast.

would it be worth the expense of adding the other 4 Gb ram given that a pair in Aus is somewhere between $70-$90

I do not think that it would increase your speed at a noticeable level, your CPU is what is holding you back. Save the money and put it towards a new system. Sorry, no good news.
