[SOLVED] hp 14s fr0012au - RAID possible?

I bought a new laptop

hp 14s fr0012au

I opened the back and checked if there is any space to add another drive other than the 512 GB M.2
There is space to add another SSD, but no space for M.2

I wanted to connect the SSD and m.2 in RAID 0

I couldnt find any settings in the bios to do that

Am I missing something or is there no way I can connect the two drives in RAID in this laptop?

There arent any adverse effects of the slow down? are there?

Single NVMe with ryzen 3 and 8 gb 2400 MHz RAM
vs
NVMe+SATA in RAID with the same setup?

RAID would be faster, right?
Outside of very very limited use cases, RAID 0 + SSD brings NO user facing speed benefit.
Benchmarks may look great, but actual user facing benefit is nil.

Even worse, with matching NVMe drives, it may even be a bit slower than single drives, due to the controller overhead.

SATA + NVMe + RAID 0 is a monstrously bad idea.

RAID 0, in general, is a monstrously bad idea. Unless you have a real need for it, and know exactly why you need it.

How do I check if I have NVMe M.2? or are all M.2 NVMe drives?

I am not going to store any kind of critical data in the laptop
So I thought i might as well get the best speed possible since I already have a SSD.

RAID 0 = twice the size of the smallest, and the speed of the slowest.


M.2 is simply the form factor. How it plugs in. There are both NVMe and SATA III solid state drives.
There are also devices that plug into an M.2 port that have nothing to do with storage. It is also commonly used for a WLAN/BT device.
