Is there a driver for this laptop that will allow it to use NVMe M.2 ssd's or must I stick with Sata?

You have an m.2 slot but you will still be limited by Sata speeds. ~550mb/s max.
There are no driver updates that will allow you to run the faster NVME drives at full speed.

Its not even a case of using an NVMe drive at full speed....rather you cannot use an NVMe drive AT ALL.

That's kind of what I thought, looks like I will have to stick to the slower Sata 3 version.

For most uses, there is not really a lot of user facing difference.
