I have just received an hp 1600c as a donation to the church. The problem I
have with it is that xp will not install the drivers for it. The HP website
says that the drivers are on the xp disk and that is true but I get all
through the process and xp tells me that a problem has occurred and the
installation is canceled. I have looked all over for the solution and have
yet to find it. Is there anyone here that may be able to shed some light on
the problem? TIA

Ken

Have you tried installing the drivers without the printer plugged in?
are you using usb?

Try installing the drivers manually. After the port is setup then
power down, plug in your printer and power back on the computer. It
may just detect and install from there.

If that fails, then leave your printer plugged in and do a microsoft
update via their site. It may detect the needed files and install
them.
