HP 19-2014 Upgrade Questions

Just purchased HP 19-2014 All in one...
AMD E1 2500 Processor
4gb ram
7200rpm hard drive
Windows 8.1

Apple user that needed PC for work use at home. What would give me most bang for your buck speed boost for simple task... internet and office work? Seems slow opening internet explorer and mulitasking.

There is not much you can do. The CPU is holding you back, as it is very low end, and it can't really be upgraded to anything significantly better. or possibly even at all.

Memory upgradable to 16gb pc3-12800.... ssd....

Just simply internet, excel/word, email.

Adding RAM will not help.

An SSd will help open programs faster, but the low end CPU will still limit your multitasking and program performance.

Agreed.I think you'd be better off with a new system sadly if you're looking for a faster computer.

From what I've seen the E series chips are always soldered on the board (same as intel Atom) so it''s not replaceable at all. Even if it were socketed the upgrade options on that chipset wouldn't be significant.

So for all in one from best buy under 600... lenovo c460 with pentium 2.6ghz or hp with amd a6... both with 4gb ram and windows 8.1

Honestly, neither are very powerful systems. Both are designed as low budget family computers for using the internet and microsoft office. Anything more is out of their league.

I would get the Pentium if it were me.
