So my PC has a little dot that is really small. I know it's not a broken pixel because when I turn off the monitor, my flashlight shows the dot. I think it might be a small crack, and all I know is that I do get a few insects around my computer. Do you think they could crack a LCD like that?

the insects are eating your pc.... get the can of bug spray!

in all seriousness... i doubt that the common moths, flies, silverfish and other common insects drawn to light are going to hurt the screen as i've dealt with them for years without an issue. i would bet more on something actually nicking the screen during cleaning or falling against the screen. it could be that its been like this for a long time or it happened recently without you realizing it.

and the thing is, I don't really want to open my LCD monitor, especially for this very small problem.

I wish I had a high-end camera, so I can take a high quality picture of the problem.

why would you open up your lcd monitor for an exterior problem?

if its a dead pixel (which you said its not) its not going to get fixed if you poke and prod. its there to stay.

if its a scratch then perhaps read a few things peopel wrote about fixing them. its never going to be back to 100% but it could be an improvement.
