HP 2540p(i5) with tiny ssd possible?

I have a HP 2540p(i5 model), and got to thinking if it would be possible to install an tiny SSD (one the size of a wifi card) in the fan compartment allowing for the installation of a DVD drive? The i7 version of the 2540p has a smaller fan allowing a 1.8" drive to be installed next to the fan while the i5 version has a larger fan so the hard drive is installed where the DVD drive is on the i7 version.
