HP 27vx glows at the bottom

I just bought a brand new hp 27vx today from best buy. When the screen is black (but still on) i can see a little gold light like a spotlight at the bottom in the middle. Is this normal? should i return it? I'd take a picture but i have no camera

It's normal, tells you that the monitor is in standby mode rather than turned fully off (much like a TV in fact).

If you turn the monitor off or unplug the monitor from mains socket, that amber light should go out.
