Without being hooked to a computer there is nothing to feed data. The 3600n has an ethernet port or you can add an ethernet port to the base unit. I guess I am still not understanding your question....

You can't make copies with an HP color laserjet 3600. It has no scanning capabilities. IF you have a network enabled version, you could possibly print from a tablet or phone. BUT you need some computing device to supply data to the printer.
