We were given an aging HP 4000 to
get to work and if not, to discard.

When I power it on, I get a:

13.1 Paper Jam
Please open all feed trays...

I cannot find any paper caught in
either feed tray. Is there somewhere
else that a 13.1 flags? I have had
problems with 5MP's stuffing paper in
strange places. Is this along those lines?

Thanks in advance

John
If this happens at power on (?) then most likely there is a small piece of
paper, could be really tiny, caught in one of the sensors. This error is "Paper
late to fuser" normally happens while printing.
Take out the toner cartridge, look at the long horizontal roller (transfer
charge roller) but keep your fingers off it (easily contaminated), rotate it
using the small (blue?) roller at the left end and see if there is a bit of
paper poking out. Try that first.....if the error only occurs when you try to
print then there are other probabilities. Please advise.

No paper there. Other suggestions?
