HP 672c incomplete printing

Installed Win XP on old system. HP 672c installed automatically and when
asked to print test page only prints top 2/3 of Windows logo and first line.
Page is ejected, followed by several pages with just a few symbols on the
right side of the page. Have uninstalled, reinstalled with no improvement.
Any suggestions?

Maybe a bad Parallel Cable? I've seen all kinds of bizarro behavior from
printers for this reason. Also - did XP set up your parallel port
correctly? IIRC, you want it set up as EPP - not ECP or BiDirectional.

Thanks Bob, that's exactly where the problem was, only it was the fact that
a parallel scanner was hooked up in series with the printer and for some
reason was not passing the data to the printer in a timely fashion. Took the
scanner out and everything works as normal.
