A couple of weeks ago the printer went dead. Unplugged the printer and
uninstalled/reinstalled software and got it working again. Today the same
problem arose and went through the same procedure the printer is still dead
and when I click on HP750 desktop icon I get "unable to start the HP
officejet director" Just checked the printer power plug and the green light
on the plug is not on. Maybe power module problem? Running W2K. Help
appreciated.

Unplug the power cord from the printer, leave the power supply adapter plugged
into the wall. If the green light is off it indicates the power adapter is not
working. Make sure the power cord is firmly plugged in to the power adapter
and the outlet is live. If the power supply is defective you can order a new
one from http://partsurfer.hp.com. In the US the specific reference would be
http://partsurfer.hp.com/cgi-bin/spi/main?sel_flg=partlist&model=PSC_700_SERIES&HP_model=&modname=PSC+700+Series+All-in-One&template=main&plist_sval=Power+Module&plist_styp=subcatkeysel=Power+Module&catsel=%3F,
the part you need would be the 0950-3807 and the price is $23.

Thanks for that. I have a power bar and plugged into another socket in
the bar and it works:)

director" Went into Toolbox and tried to prnt test msg and got
"hpotbx07.exe generated errors. Restart program. Error log created"
Corrupt/missing file? Any thoughts on this?

I now find that while clicking the icon brings up the same error msg
there is *no* problem printing from my word processor or text from web
pages. Does this help? Maybe I can just live with the icon problem:)
