HP 870-213W, can you upgrade the motherboard w/o reinstalling Windows?

Solution
Did it come with windows 10 already installed?

Its fairly new, you might run into problems activating win 10 as OEM like HP have special licences of Win 10 meaning unlike people who updated to Win 10 from 7 or 8, its tied to the motherboard and cannot be moved.

Have a look in settings/update & security/activation and see what it says under activation.

As for actual question, you can try... there are no guarantees, win 10 is pretty good but current install would have drivers that match old motherboard. You might find you need to do a reset so backing up all your files you don't want to lose before you do it, is a good idea.
