HP battery problem

I have installed new Poder 6 celled with 5200 mha capacity battery for my HP probook 4520s laptop. It worked well for 2-3 times. Now although the battery status is full, laptop cannot be operated by battery unless I put on the current (AC). If I remove the AC cable laptop shuts down. what could be the problem?

if it is a cheap battery the battery is probably dead, it could be the battery might e higher/lower voltage than the laptop supports also try putting in the old battery and seeing if that works
