HP bios password reset, can't get it to reset

Hello, I'm in the process of resettling a friend's bios password on his HP omen desktop PC, it was a display and someone decided to set a power on password. Anyways, it's a 6 pin setup, and the motherboard clearly states to move one of the jumpers to 1-2 to clear, and after trying every different way to put the jumper in, it still will not clear the password, so I'm wondering if anyone has any ideas
