I should buy HP 7150 ,HP 7550, Canon S900 or Epson Photo 925 color printer?
I wanna use it for print photo and assignments.
Which one is better?
Thanks.

go for the HP 7550. it uses photoret IV technology, like the 7150. However, it has an LCD display, slot for memory card, etc. you can edit, crop, etc right on the printer. amazing. HP is the best brand to get because of its long lifetime and quality. They also stay nice and fresh forlong periods of time. i have a 7 yr HP 600 printer, and it still keeps on giving.

things you might want to consider is price. HP cartridges are considerably more expensive than others.

canon is good, but not great. HP's colour layering technology is truly amazing. the epson is probably the cheapest choice, in price and quality. Epson isnt bad, but isnt good. HP is definately the way to go.

HP 7550 stats:

can get pics via USB, memory card (Compact Flash, SmartMedia, Memory Stick (Sony) SecureDigital, and MultiMedia)

preview and enhance pics on the lcd display
4800dpi
photoret 4
more than 1.2 million shades (350x more than photoret 3)
most natural tones
13ppm colour, 17ppm black
dedicated black cartridge

cons: expensive. needs 6-7 cartridegs (6 for the non-natural black) the 7th cartridge is for black ink, for pure balck since the CMY black doesn't do black justice (more like #080808 colour)

have fun :)

About a year ago I was looking for a new printer to print photos with and found a nicely priced HP printer(I can't remeber the model) at compusa for $150 off. I bought it, took it home, installed the xp driver, and hooked it up, but could not get it to work. After a few hours trying to get the printer recognized I called tech support who told me after two hours of messing with every setting they new of to "go and buy a paralell cable". I took back the HP printer to compusa and bought the Cannon equivelent, a S600, which was new at the time. I hooked it up without even installing the winxp driver and my comp immediately recognized the printer, and it worked fine.

I don't know which is better, but I am very happy with my Cannon printer. Good luck to ya!

If you want photo quality, go with a photo printer. HP has claimed for the last three years that they didn't need photo inks. They bashed Canon for sticking with the photo inks. Now all of a sudden HP says "Ours is better because we use dye-based photo inks," blah, blah, blah. Guess what? Canon has all along.

HP's 7550 is a joke. It is nothing more than a 7150 with an LCD and a place to put an over-priced black cartridge. All for $200 MORE! Direct from the card printing? BFD! You're looking at a max. 600 dpi print! The printer (even Canon and Epson's direct print models) doesn't have enough memory and processing power to do hi-res photo printing.

The bottom line: If you are looking for a dedicated photo printer, buy the S900. If you need a great all-around printer which does awesome photos, buy the new Canon i850. It produces a 5pl droplet for coverage and an invisible 2pl droplet for detail. Unbeatable! It also walks the dog on ANY HP, EPSON, or LEXMARK in print speeds, including a 90 second borderless 8.5 x 11 photo quality print.

Make the smart choice and get you a Canon!

go to <A HREF="http://www.steves-digicams.com/printers.html" target="_new">http://www.steves-digicams.com/printers.html</A> and decide which one serves you better.

my favorite is Canon S9000 (A4 model is S900) which i bought one before 2 weeks and i am extremely happy and impressed with the results and very fast printing.

if you do not like canon go with epson but if you will not use your printer for more than one month then you have to take care and keep in your mind nozzle's problem, new epsons have very good photo quality but they are slow.

i wont go with hp, not as high as the the print quality of the new models of canon and epson nor fast, also hp's drivers are not that good ( i used to have hp scanner and printer where their drivers were bothering me).

at last, it is your favority and choise, but better to buy the new models with 6 cartridges.

good luck

the canon printers (s900 and s9000) are sweet machines. i was going to go with the s900 but i wanted to be able to get the largest prints i could for the camera i have, so i'll be getting the s9000 soon.

cdrw, floppy drive, cd-rom? what are these strange words you speak of?

I have the S900 Canon too and I recommend it as well.
