Explain discrepancy in what you mean by left in your thread, and right in your title? More importantly, please list the exact model HP machine. Be aware that some HPs have proprietary front panel wiring that may not match up with retail boards' headers.

Thanks clutchc I have a p6677c had trouble with GPU got another GTX 1060 not compateble with the system, bought a ryzen 5 1600 and MSI B350 MOBO, If I am correct in my thinking I will need a new case also

Sorry, looking at the front of the case the right side opens, so the MOBO is mounted on the left

looking at the upgrade and service manual,

the mobo is just install upside down.
but it uATX, not the stand ATX, which b350 is that?
