Can anyone tell me what exactly is the problem with the HP Compaq 6000 pro SFF? I have 4gb of ram...and have tried many different configurations of ram to upgrade. It will not accept any. I even tried 4 more gigs of the exact same ram that DOES work in it and it will not. Is this just a poorly designed and built pc? or is there any hope?

I am running Windows 7 64 bit. I have 2 x 2gb sticks of G. skill ripjaws...F3-10666CL8D-4GBHK...DDR3-1333 CL8-8-21. I bought two more exactly the same....they wont work. I tried ram that someone else on this forum recommended for this machine and it wont work either. I bought this machine used and I believe I got screwed.

I used this memory and it works on my HPC 6000 Pro SFF. If you do use 2 memory modules, please remember to populate the black colored memory slot and then populate the third memory slot too.

G.SKILL Value Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1333 (PC3 10600) Desktop Memory Model F3-10600CL9D-8GBNT

HP's Memory Specs are as follows for that system:

DDR3-SDRAM DIMMs
For proper system operation, the DDR3-SDRAM DIMMs must be:
● industry-standard 240-pin
● unbuffered non-ECC PC3-8500 DDR3-1066 MHz-compliant or PC3-10600 DDR3-1333 MHzcompliant
NOTE: 1333 MHz DIMMS will only run at a speed of 1066 MHz.
● 1.5 volt DDR3-SDRAM DIMMs
The DDR3-SDRAM DIMMs must also:
● support CAS latency 7 DDR3 1066 MHz (7-7-7 timing) and CAS latency 9 DDR3 1333 MHz (9-9-9
timing)
● contain the mandatory JEDEC SPD information
In addition, the computer supports:
● 512-Mbit, 1-Gbit, and 2-Gbit non-ECC memory technologies
● single-sided and double-sided DIMMs
● DIMMs constructed with x8 and x16 DDR devices; DIMMs constructed with x4 SDRAM are not
supported
