Hello there, i am fairly new to the pc game and i don't have the most knowledge when it comes to upgrading a pc which is why i am here. I have found an HP Compaq dc 7700 convertible mini tower and just for fun i decided to max the build out with the best upgrades that are supported. However i am having a hard time finding parts that support the system. I would really appreciate it if someone could find me the best parts that support this pc. Remember i have no budget on this build because firstly i am not paying since it is my uncles and the parts supported are probably so outdated, this being 2016 that i assume it will be cheap anyway to upgrade.

Parts already in pc:
Mother board: Intel Q965 Express Chipset
CPU: Intel core 2 duo E6600 2.4ghz
Ram: 2gb ddr2 ram
No graphics card, but there is a pci express x16 slot v1.0 on the mother board for a graphics card
365w psu
and a 160 gb hard drive

I would really appreciate some help.

There is no budget, i just want to know the total price of the best parts i can put into the pc then i will give it to my uncle and he will decide if it is worth the upgrade or just buying a new pc, thanks for helping

Here's a list of part I found,http://pcpartpicker.com/p/V6fymG all of this is what I would do. I say if you want much more power, get a new motherboard with a newer socket. lga755 is kinda old and once you pay for a high end cpu, for that socket, it's doesn't make sense, you could get a motherboard and a lower end cpu for a newer socket and come out better and have MUCH more upgrade ability. Again, this is what I would do, I don't know your uncle or what he does on his PC. If you could give me some pointers, like if games will be played, or more like a work PC or something, that would be great

He doesn't play any sort of high end games but i know that my cousin does wants to play CS:GO on that pc, right now i think he plays on a laptop and gets appalling frames on that. It is more of a work pc. As for upgrading the motherboard i did mention that to him and he said that he will decide after he sees the best parts for what he currently has, as he is the type of person who does not throw away or not make use of his things, hence why he does not want to change the motherboard so easily as he has no other purpose for it. I will ask him again as i know it would better to start from a fresh motherboard and it will be cheaper, but we will just have to see what he says. Thanks for finding these parts i will show them to him and lets just see what he says.
Thanks
