Hp compaq dc78000 with windows xp doesnt show wireless networks, only lan

I just reset my dc78000 computer, but as soon as I tried to connect to wifi, I could only connect to a lan network. I don't understand what to do.

There might be a small switch on the front or side of the laptop or one of the Function keys might show the wireless icon. If it has, press that one and the Fn key to the left of your spacebar.

One way or the other, you will turn the wireless adapter on and it should be able to display a list of available networks.

If you mean a dc7800, that is a sff desktop computer which is unlikely to have a wi-fi adapter (unless you have added one)

How strange. I assumed it was a laptop because he'd reset it and expected what he had before or better.
