Hp compaq nc6000 problems forums

Hello,
It doesn't power up. When I switch it on, a fan comes on and an amber light for about 15 seconds before it switches itself off.

An nc6000 is a very old. It probably has cooling issues and the CPU is overheating or the MB is going bad. You can take it apart, clean it and re-apply thermal paste to the CPU but I would get a new laptop.

I have the same problem, but with my HP Compaq D530 CMT. However, it is not that old. Should I go to the service centre?
