Question HP Compaq nx9110 shuts off

Hello evrybody.
I am tinkering with this laptop.
Finally I managed to install Ubuntu 14.04 and it woks.
Only, I cannot use it because the laptop shuts off on its own soon.
I am getting this bug message but I dont know if that is the cause:

MP-BIOS bug: 8254 timer not connected to IO-APIC

I know the laptop is very old, but I like old laptops, they are sturdy, the few things they have are well designed. This one has a Pentium 4.

Radeon Driver Failure

That was a common headache with 14 and mostly fixed in 16.04 to 17.04 " The highest you can go". I have yet to see that error on MX Linux or Manjaro 32 installs so far and I have done close to 100 this year.

Thank you . I have fixed it.
I dont know what happened but I am used to the idea that with computers you can never be sure of anything.
I dont have instruments to check things out like you could do with radio sets, so I go by experience.
I just tried a different USB key that I had, an 8 Gb Sony, and all went well.
