My hp will not allow me to overclock from the bios. Is there any way to crack this and activate the voltage and cpu features for overclocking?

Doubtful. Unfortunately so many people decide to get more from their prebuilt systems and find the parts are crap and VERY limited in upgrade capabilities.

What model is the HP? Need more info to be sure but my 1st impression is most likely correct...

You can probably do a software based overclock (set fsb), but I would recommend against it.

Software OC is too unstable, especially on a non capable system. Drop that idea...

Hi, Software Fsb is a terrible idea, i killed my laptop using that thing. It is highly unstable and will not generate the appropriate clocks. gl

For the last week I've had a VERY mild (5%) OC on my laptop running stable thanks to clockgen. I've been monitoring my numbers constantly with cpu-z, and other than an occasional moment where my clock dips downward, it's completely rock solid. It never goes above the 210 I set it at, and the voltage never does anything funny. It even autostarts when the computer boots. The only annoying thing is that it sets back to stock when the computer hibernates.

There are few instances where software ocing is a good idea. It's much more stable to do through the BIOS, it just takes a little reading to find out how to do it. I've done both and I'll never software OC again...

Thanks everyone but it is a none starter. Can not find my Pll for the software
