I am at wits end with this computer.
I have an older but still (hopefully useful) HP dc5850 which freezes up.
I originally thought it was a problem with the hard drive. So I opted to try a spare on hand and reinstall Windows. Made it to the boot screen and it froze solid without even getting the chance to click anything. Mouse and keyboard were inoperable.
For the sake I tried Ubuntu and I got through one page and it went solid frozen.
Freezes whether booting from DVD or USB and even if you run the software off the USB.
I reset the BIOS to defaults and it never changed anything.
I dont know what the cause for the constant freeze up.
Maybe its just a HP Problem of short life electronics?
Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks!
