HP's website tells me that it's my CPU thermal protection activated... but i completely swapped the CPU with a celeron D 341 and a Core 2 Duo E6750 but still the same... 2 beeps and 3 seconds wait. Someone help?
To add with it: the sound chip gets blazingly hot in a matter of SECONDS after powering the motherboard(not the PC, only plugging it in) i tried attaching a heatsink to the sound card with some thermal paste in between, but no success.
CPU or Power supply issue. Looking at HP site beep codes ,(possibly a PDF)
Do you get any display after the system attempts to post
i had similar issues with the HP DC5850. I doubt the reference manuals are very different from another but here is the dc7800 ref (beep code stuff is near the bottom) http://h20564.www2.hp.com/hpsc/doc/public/display?docId=emr_na-c01159709
