Hi,

I want to move everything in my new PC to an bigger case from my old PC, but I'm a noob with motherboard form factors, and have no idea whether it will fit properly. I'm using a custom dc7900 (Small Form Factor), which I think has it's original motherboard, but I'm not sure, and I want to upgrade the case to one for a Dell Vostro 220.

If someone can help and let me know if my dc7900 motherboard and Vostro 220 case are compatible, that would be great!

Thanks for any help anyone can give,

No, an HP DC7900 motherboard and Dell Vostro 220 case are not compatible. The DC7900 motherboard is not a regular ATX or mATX form factor, it's a proprietary SFF (small form factor) design. It has a reverse layout to ATX, with the expansion slots to the left of the back panel I/O ports, instead of to the right.

Thanks for the reply. So, can I find other cases, preferably wider ones, that will fit the motherboard? If so, could you recommend one, because, after much searching, I've found many cases, but the term 'Small Form Factor' seems quite abstract and used generally.

Thanks in advance,
F

My guess is you will not be able to find one. I am assuming this motherboard is a one off design and there is no case made that will match it. I may be wrong, but that is my guess.
