HP deskjet 1050A printer margins

Hi, I have bought a HP deskjet 1050A printer. When I print a document it prints out top and bottom margins that are really big in comparison to the print preview. I bought the printer to print off CVs, but when the words are squashed in the middle of the page it looks unprofessional. I have tried adjusting the margins in Word and am happy with the look of it, until it prints out 🙁 please help x

Be sure the printer is set for the correct type of paper you are using, then if it is try reinstalling the driver, available from HP's support site. Good places to start at least.
